thanks,

p.s. i know i'm probably asking for too much but, i'd like a 4x4 long bed.
hey email gibsontractor@aol.com that is the guy who I got mine off of back in Sept 09 he had a 78 or 79 F250 4wd for sale for $2,800 located in Stamford VT.
you won't find an original 4x4 longbed...so if you see any ..check to see if it was a shortbed that was lengthened AND done correctly OR was it a 2wd longbed converted to 4wd AND done correctly, they are out there, I have 3 that I am combining into 1 w/ all the options in NJ... A guy just sold one on ebay in PA for 2500 w/ an extra cab and bed...good luck

thanks. i saw the 74 on ebay. i've been on craigslist and ebay. i'd like to find something close to N.Y. i dont like flying and i could'nt buy something without seeing in person.
Like Bob said no crew long bed 4x4's unless someone built it themselves.
When you begin your search for a crew make sure before you buy it that you or someone with knowledge inspects it. They have some serious rust issues above the drip rail and can cause some severe damage. I spent the better part of 2 years waiting to find mine.
OldFordcrewcabs is a good spot to look for a used one. There is alway a post there about the crews for sale. They were not real popular in the Midwest and Eastern states. Most of the crews that have been up for sale are coming out of the PNW.
Worth a trip out there...used to live up in WA state and made many trips into Vancouver and Vancouver Island, beautiful country. Heck, even Alberta is nice. Use it as an excuse to get out there.
I hear that there is a sweet one for sale after the paint is applied in Illinois...
only kidding ..scott won't sell it after all his searching and hardwork...progress??
