I know this is off topic but anyone have ideads on what could cause a drain on the truck. Its a 01 Dod#E, the only added option to the truck is an alarm with remote start. This has been in there for years!! Everything works like it should. Do you guys think think that the alarm is killing the battery? I was going to try to unhook it this weekend and see if thats it but any help would be GREAT>

Put an amp meter on between the battery post and its cable, see what if any current flow you have.
Then pull every fuse and see what there is for current.
Then start replacing the fuses, see if there is an eureka or just a general increase in current flow.
Might be able to narrow it down to a circuit or two.
Then again your wiring system may have many leaks to ground like a sieve.
You could also have mung over the hot side of the starter solenoid terminal and that is draining your battery.
Then pull every fuse and see what there is for current.

Another sneaky one is the engine compartment light switch being stuck 'on.'
You wouldn't notice that so much because you have the hood up while working on the truck.
Pull the light bulb and see if the battery holds its charge.
