Which years of 351w had the dipstick hole in the pan and which years had the hole in the block?
I have a block without the hole for the dipstick in it and am looking for a pan that will work with it
IDK, but it's harder to find the OEM dipsticks than the pans. You can find the oil pans all over eBay, but usually new and about $50. In over 5 years of regularly surfing it, there has been 1 dipstick and not only was it cheap, but ended without selling as I got distracted and the auction ended before I bid.
My best suggestion is to go back in time and do it the way we did it before the web: Open up your local Yellow Pages and look under salvage yards, and start calling, making a list of those that you do, so you don't call twice. Not only will you probably find the pan, but the first one you call will be able to tell you which years they came on.
Alternatively, there is a site or 2 that will locate parts for you on the WWW, but they will charge for the privilege.
