LP conversion

Hey guys, Happy Holidays. I am thinking about putting an LP fuel set up on my 05 F250 6.0 and I am researching the issue. I am looking for info. on what is available. I want to keep the diesel system in the truck and just have the LP in the truck to run the truck when I want. Talk to me.

Do you mean a full blown or a partial mix of propane?

Here is a partial mix system.. no idea how well it works:

You might want to try posting or searching the forum for Alternative Fuels

Know that LP has about 20% less BTU's then diesel; expect your performance to drop off.

We build LP delivery trucks and LP power was a big thing 10 years ago. Most were Ford F-700 gassers converted. They are dogs and since then, nothing but diesels are speced.

If your going to do it, make sure it runs on the liquid and not the vapor. Just my $0.02

Thanks for the info. guys. I guess I have narrowed it down to a partial mix as I don't want to lose any of the trucks power or ability yet I would like that diesel full tank to go as far as possible for the dollar.

Partial mixes hardly save you much money... depending on how much you are feeding in.

I have seen 100% diesel propane used on commercial bus engines... and apparently, it does work, and work well.
