7.5 chip

I need some opinions on getting a chip/programer for a 7.5/460 in a '97 truck. How about a speedo/trans recalibrater for a E4OD? I'm running 36's

Don't waste you money on a chip, on these trucks it won't get you anything you can't get for free. Instead upgrade the exhaust and advance the timing at the distributor a few degrees. You don't need anything to recalibrate the speedo.. see the link below. And yes this procedure applies to your truck too.

Thanks for the info. I've already have dual exhaust, a KN filter with custom intake and MSD ignition upgrades. I'm glad I asked before I spent the money on a chip. Thats a great article on speedo recalibration, very thorough explanation.

I know banks is pretty proud of their stuff, but i know first hand on a 7.5 RV that it makes a hell of difference with the banks full exhaust and air box stuff. Ford for some reason left alot of HP and torque to be found on this engine just in the exhaust.
