Thanks for input, I am definitely taking it in to get the latest flash, I am just wondering if my current problem is related to the ficm being disconnected? or something resulted from injector change?
Does it make sense to completely power down (disconnect battery, turn on headlights) and let the PCM etc. lose their memory, including any bad habits learned when your injector failed?
FICM disconnected ought not to matter as it has non-volatile memory.
You are right, I only disconnect batteries, and removed ficm, was trying to figure out what else could've caused extended crank time, it didn't do that before i replaced the injector,I was very careful when i replaced injector, everything torqued, and kept clean, dont know?
Just wanted to update thread, I replaced the #4 injector, truck is running great with no misfire, only issue at this point is the truck takes very long time to start, extended crank, was wondering if reflash will help, never brought truck in for flash yet. Still have cold start issue, runs rough once it warms up, run's great.
I'm trying a oil additive product call "Rev X" with my current 15W-40 since I've read it's suppose to be the cats meow for fixing the injector stiction problems. I've been running it now for 4 days and it has fixed my rough running problem. It's pretty pricey since the recommended dosage is 8 oz that cost's ~ $64.
Or you can try running 5W-40 synthetic which ussually fixes this type of problem also.
Thanks for all the input, I will test my batteries and charging system tomorrow, and will post up progress as soon as i can, will definitely consider switching to synthetic oil because I change my oil every other month, I travel 500 miles a week.
Just wanted to update thread, took care of the extended crank issue with motor, cheezit nailed it on the head, it appears that i had some air trapped in it, ran engine for a while and repeatedly started engine numerous amount of times, not sure if it was trapped in high pressure oil rail or fuel rail, but in any event the engine runs great! thanks everybody for their input.
