51 E-Brake parts

I gGot myself a new hand-brake cable that goes from the lever in the cab to the Equalizer underneath but I need to get hold of the fitting brackets that go on each end of this (elongated U-shaped thingamajigs that wind on the cable)

I have been searching the forum history for the actual parts as I have nothing to reference until the shop manual arrives (currently in UPS Paris customs clearance house awaiting import tax calculation with the rest of the order according to the tracking number) and I have seen a few reference pics, like Julie's photo of the actual Equalizer under her truck and Bob's exploded diagram of all the numbered parts etc.

I need part number 357337-S on the Equalizer end and number 2484 on the Lever end.

All the rest of the system is in place and new ... they just forgot to do the long cable to the cab ... probably because they lost these two parts!

Not had any luck on ebay and I have contacted Mac's, CG, DC and Green Sales who have all said it's not possible for them to get hold of one as they are not made Repro so if anyone is braking a truck or has an excess of spares to fit an E- Brake system from a 51 F1 please let me know.

It wont be too difficult to make something but I'd rather try to get hold of the right parts first... in the mean time I'm using Park on the auto so there's no rush

an exploded diagram -

Thanks

Alex

Those are the clevis ends? They are honestly nothing special, other than being real steel. I'm sure Grainger or McMaster will have something very similar.

Here are larger pictures.

I may have 2484 as the cable in the parts truck that I have is still attached to the handle. However, I can't open up the doors right now to check. Can check this weekend.

Julie might have the other piece still attached to the rear crossmember on her half of the truck that we split a few weeks ago.

48-52 used the same system.

If you can't find 357337-s, I may know someone that has them.

Yep I have the clevis (357337-S) on the trailer. If Denny doesn't have what you need, let me know and I'll send you mine. I'm pretty sure the other one is on the handle Ilya.

Hi Alex,

Let me know if you need me to take the clevis off the trailer. If so I will probably need an address as well.

I also found the rear linkage assembly with the celvises (sp?) or is it the clevi (??).

I also have the one up front at the e-brake handle.

Looks like you got several choices.
