I was thinking of an old blade in the circular saw. Luckily I only have a couple more straight cuts and two holes for the shower handle and tub spout.
I'm not touching the wall with the window (opposite the shower controls) as this wall is sound. Even in 1888 when the house was built, a window in the shower was a dumb idea....
Use the rock board, much better. Kohler has a nice two piece shower unit available at Lowes and HD. The floor pan and the three wall single unit. Looks much better and carries a 10 year warranty. It looks like it screws into the studs from the leading edges.
