New guy here!
Hey folks! Glad to have found this place! I've been lurking for awhile, so I figured I oughta join in.. I've been reading up here on Hedman headers here, and I have a question. Will these headers fit a F100 I6 300? I only see F150, but I imagine they would. Just trying to be sure. Thanks in advance.

I've posted a few times regarding Hedman headers. You can do a search and read about the PIA they can be.
If I were you and had it to do over again, I would go with EFI exhaust manifolds. I am still trying to figure out how to keep mine from leaking. Other guys never have a problem.
One thing you should know: Buy a new starter and install it before putting on the headers, because they 'lock' in your starter, and if it goes out in the future, it will mean major fun.

Thanks. I've been reading up, and getting more confused as I go. There's a lot to read 8>) I really want a header, but don't want to spend upwards of 400 bucks or more. Is there a problem with the starter on all the headers, or just the Hedmans? I really haven't seen any info yet on other headers. I have been looking at Cliffords headers, but are they really worth that much? Even with the ceramic coating? My truck is pretty straight. 1 barrel. No air pump. Cherry Bomb. 3 on the column. Thats it. I figured I'd start with a header, and then upgrade the ignition. Then on to an intake. Does this sound like a plan? Thanks again y'all.

Dude. EFI manifolds are the way to go. F250 Restorer had a whole thread on how bad his headers were. I've heard bad about the hooker headers and the hedman headers, and we always hear bad reports about cliffords products in general. Pay 20 or 30 bucks and get an OE bolt on set of manifolds that have almost as much flow as headers. And they come out in duals just like headers.
As far as the rest of the plan, it sounds pretty solid. What were you planning on doing to the ignition? What year's your truck?

It's a 1976. Haven't really looked hard into the ignition. It's electronic with one vaccum line. Actually it runs fine. I've read somewhere that an ignition upgrade was one of the first things you should do. I don't know. I am deffinately going to look into the EFI manifolds though. Is there any specific years I need to be looking at? We have a chain of bone yards around here called Pull- Apart, that have really good deals on used parts. You have to take them off yourself though. Like old school!

If you run into a set with o2 sensors,my '96 has them, just put plugs in the holes. You may run into extra bolts on the donor truck, but on yours, just use the bolts that are there,Ford used the extra ones to hang the exhaust manifolds on before they installed the EFI intake,so they are not needed.Do a search on the gasket and see if you can find out the best one to get,if not, just the best Felpro has.Make sure you get an even surface on both intake and exhaust bolting surfaces ,so when you tighten them ,they have pretty equal pressure on both.I don't know that there is any difference in thickness, but shim if you have to,as I know it is very important to get them both tight,to prevent future leaks.
