Design Center
The Ford Truck design center WAS in Dearborn, Mi at Oakwood Blvd and Rotunda Dr. Go to Mapquest and you an see the Ford Engineering complex and Dearborn proving Grounds quite clearly. Use the picture view feature.
The trucks powertrains were designed in the second building southeast of the corner along Rotunda. That was of true in the late 80's/ early 90's anyway.
All of the current Mediums are designed by Navistar and produced in their (Navistar's) Blue Diamond plant in Mexico.

The buildings are a bit west of the Google link above. There are 3 similar sized buildings with one in the middle parallel to Rotunda, and one on each side at a bit of an angle. They are / were Bldgs #1, 3 & 5. I do not recall which building housed Heavy Truck, but was thinking it was 1 or 5. It depends on point in time, engineering groups etc moved around. The first building to the left of the intersection (Bldg#2,) did not exist in the days of Heavy Truck. Large truck engines (401/477/534) were also done at another location off of I-94 on the Dearborn / Allenpark MI border, the TEE Building (Truck Engine Eneering).
