Flat Bed Designs

Just curious if anyone has any good flatbed designs for a truck. Pictures, Blueprints.. anything?

Thanks.

There is a guy over on Pirate that has the best flatbed I've seen. He kept the whole bed low and only raised the wheel wells. 45ed the ends and it sticks maybe an inch or 2 past the frame. Can't remember his name but it's on the same body style as your truck.

Well edited the first post. I just noticed it doesn't really matter what size the flatbed is, cause if I like it I can just modify the specs lol.

Do you have anything more? Because finding an 80 somethings F-250/F-350 with a specific flatbed might be hard to find. Lol.

I have also been thinking of a flat bed design. Not a big fan of the J10 pics from above. I think a good way to go would be to keep it close to frame height then cut it out for the wheel to clear when at full flex. I was thinkin of just using some pre-made trailer fenders for this. I like the idea of keepin it frame length and 45ing the rear corners. Sorry i don't have any drawn out plans yet it's all just stored in my brain for now. It'll be a few years till I can actually build it, but I would def. try and keep it as low as possible. I'm even thinkin about just using some treated lumber for the flooring, like a trailer would use. Just a few options to think about.

That jeep bed is not bad. It would look alot better if the headache rack was bent to follow the curves of the cab. I will look for a picture later tonight of the bed I like

I love that flatbed that you posted 79Ford4x4!

I want one like that. I was already thinking of doing a really really similiar one. Except the headache rack would be a little different and the tail lights would be lower and part of a bumper.

I'll try to draw a design and show you what I was thinking.

When I build mine the lights will be recessed into frame. Will also be making a tool box that is flush with the floor so I can haul lumber when needed.

Someday I will flatbed a lifted ford. I had my bed off this summer for a while and it was the greatest thing to drive on and offroad. I like yeahbuddy's design as the sides can be added. Really makes it versatile.

The J10 flatbed that Carlene posted isn't for me. I prefer fender wells. I don't know why, I just like the look better. I suppose you could add them yourself though.
