my 78 f150 4x4 shorty has a broken main leaf in the rear drivers side. im debating whether or not to lift it-such as a reversed spring hanger or blocks or add a leaf--still thinking about which to do. however, before i do any of those i need a new leaf pack or packs.
1. Leafs are 3"wide and there are 6 total.
-im wondering if igoto the junk yard, what other leaf packs would work.
-and if theres any good AAL that neone knows of.
2. Are there coil springs off of another truck that could be used for left too. THANKS
A new stock spring pack is fairly cheap. Mine were 200 ish per pack. Add a leaf will make it more stiff, however most of the lift kits out there give you the lift and a better ride (or so they claim).
I don't know how much your looking to spend but Deaver springs are suppose to be great. I'm going to replace my rear springs in my 1977 F250 4x4 and I'm going with Deaver. I 1st heard of them on this forum from alot of these guys. I actually called them today. The only thing is they are on the high end of price, but you get what you pay for.....hopefully! They are made in the good ole USA as well!!
