I am switching my 400 from points to electronic tonight and just wanted to make sure I am correct on one big assumption...
My assumption is...once I switch to the electronic distributor then my timing and spark plug gaps will also switch to the appropriate electronic settings even though it's still a '72 motor! Thanks, Rick
Rick,
When I changed my 352 I upped the plug gap to 40 and set my timing at 10 degrees advanced. Runs great! But to answer your question I'm pretty sure your right. If I'm wrong, well I know someone will let us know! LoL ) CJ.....
Once you switch you will have to start using the specs for the new distributor, if it is a stock replacement then you will use the specs for whatever it was designed for. For example if it was a stock unit for a 80 Thunderbird then you will use the specs for the 80 TBird.
