i have 33x10.5x15 Super Swamper TSL Boggers on my 78. Im wondering how bad is it to drive these on pavement. should i invest in some used road tires. found some on craigs list for 120-31x10.5x15. except then i have to get some different wheels, maybe from the junkyard. idk, looking for other peoples input. thanks
Ive been driving on the same tires, mine are the radials. They are actually holding up extremely well and that is with a detroit locker out back too. Just rotate them and make sure your running the appropriate air pressure and you should be fine.
sweet. do you like them then? how often do you rotate them, i drive about 30m a day on them. ive only tried them out once, but i dam sure didnt get stuck haha
Haha I love mine. I've had them for a year, about 12k probably and I've rotated them once. I measure them with a micrometer and when the rears start showing more wear than the fronts I switched them. They are amazing and I plan to put a set on my new FJ when I can afford them. The are wonderful in rain, ice, snow and mud, I've only needed 4 wheel drive in stuff that is over a foot deep (snow) and they don't even seem to whine that loud. However I like the whine, I like loud exhausts, and I love my meaty *** tires haha.
im with you on the loud man! my tires however whine louder than the exhaust! simply bc its still 2 to1 with standard muffler-debating on whether or not to cut out the muff and put a glasspk on it or just do the duel exhaust. is yours your dd?
Yep, I have two vehicles my old ford and a new toyota, however the ford is my favorite and honestly I drive it the most. I put dual exhaust with short glasspacks on it too
now that you bring yours up--did you do your own exhaust? did you run the drivers side over to the passenger side right behind the motor, and then followed the same path-straight back from the passenger side exhaust mani - and then run one from the rear axel to the drivers side and continue the other one straight bk? or is there a way to tuck the drivers side straight back?
Um my exhaust runs down the passanger side as you say, however mine exit in front of the rear wheels instead of behind them. If you get a little creative there is no reason you couldnt run them down each side respectively.
