hi guys..........i got a b&m shift improver kit # 40264 for xmas. i have a aode trans 94 f150 2wd 302. has anyone ever had hands on experience with putting one of these in. i would like to know how easy or hard this is before i take on this job. don't want to start it and not be able to finish it. anything electrical in the trans i need to look out for. anything in the valve body i need to look out for. it has 2 stages 1st-rv/heavy duty 2nd-street/strip. don't know which one to go with. would like to use the 2nd setup and was wondering how hard the shifts would be. can i install this with the trans still in the truck. i have a neighbor that has a spare 4r70w valve body. can i use that instead of the aode valve body. this is a daily driven truck. any help on this is appreciated............
Its not bad , just follow the instructions . The trans dosn't need to come out . The street / strip set up will shift hard enough to break the tires loose on the second gear shift . When you remove the valve body keep it level , theres alot of check valve ***** that can fall out , when you drill the valve body plate be carfull with the drill bits that come with the kit they break easy , the second gear shift spring is a little hard to hold in while trying to get the clip back in , a small bottle jack helped alot . If you don't already have a trans cooler i would recomend one & a temp gauge to ......Lew
