99f150 electric4x4 not working
got off the side of my aunts driveway onto the snow/grass to hook onto my trailer(6x8 flat empty)...my front tires were still on the snowy hard driveway surface... when trying to pull out with the trailer in 2wd my rear tires spun so i waited for them to stop and hit the switch for 4hi just for a quick second to help get back on the driveway....nothing ..the front tires didnt make an attempt to turn/spin.............ok plan b was switch to 4lo to see if that makes a difference so in neutral foot off brake i hit the switch to 4lo and put in drive still no sign of the front tires wanting to turn ...i went for a walk out to the road so i could release some frustration and swear a few times and ended up getting pulled by a chevy.... could this day get any worse....
my question is what should i check is there an electric motor somewhere to shift the t-case and what actuates the front hubs is that something electric or vacuum operated??
help i want 4x4 working again so i dont need another rescue
i found the 2 electric vacuum solenoids on my firewall pass side corner that have power going to them at all tomes in 2hi,4x4 hi&lo not sure if the vacuum diaphragm on the front pumpkin moves the axle linkage bc i didnt have a 2nd person to turn the switch while i watched but whatever is wrong it is @ the front axle locking mechanism
the truck goes to a real....lol REAL EXPENSIVE mechanic tomorrow and i will have an update once he finds the problem
266 dollars for the stealer only part and some labor cost to change
