Lower radiator hose?

I'm traying to track down a coolant leak and I just happened to touch all the coolant hoses on the top of the engine and they are all warm to the touch and when I went underneath and touched the lower radiator hose is was no where near warm. Is this a sign of a coolant flow problem or is this the way a radiator works. I would have thought it would have at least been a little warm. Thanks,Todd

If they are only warm then your t-stat has not opened yet and the engine is not up to temp. The lower hose is the cold side per se.
