Both;

Motor = A machine that converts other forms of energy into mechanical energy and so imparts motion.

Engine = A motor that converts thermal energy to mechanical work.

An electric motor is not an engine, but a gasoline engine is a motor.

You've forgotten about something, the 1958/65 Lincoln 430, which was also available in 1959/60 T-Bird's as an option over the 352.

1966/67 Lincoln's came with its larger brother, the 462.

1964/72 FT engines: 330 2V M/D, 330 2V H/D, 361 2V, 391 4V / 1973/78 FT engines: 330 2V M/D, 361 2V (359), 391 4V (389).

The 359 is a detuned for emission purposes 361, the 389 is a detuned 391 for the same reason.

An FE engine most of y'all have never heard of, the 361, used in 1958 Edsel Pacer's & Corsair's only.

Yeah, but the Edsel 361 was really just a high compression 360. My old man had two Lincolns wih the 430 in them and a couple with the 462. Damn, those motors were smooth.

The Edsel 361 was based on and was a slight overbore of the 352.

The 360 wasn't introduced until 1968, used thru 1976 in F100/350's only.

If FE engines are big blocks, what does that make the FT 391, a bigger block?

Yes, I know the truck 360 was not introduce until 1968, but the bore and stroke of the 2 engines are identical. Just that bac k in the lat 50s there was real high octane gas so the Edsel 361 had a 10.5 to 1 compression in 1958 and 9.5 to 1 in 1959.

An FT 391 is the same bore and stroke and CID as the FE 390, the extra number is to differentiate the engines, just as the 389 does.
