ok well the problems with these trucks is lack of muscle but that can be fixed fairly easy
the good things about them is u can only improve them lol
as far as creature comforts go.... mine is a XLT Lariat so i have power everything and A/C gotta love that.... paint on a 87 is a given my 88 needs a paint job coz its dull looking
it may not have any rust.... mines 21 years old and it doesnt have any on it only thing that leaks is the power steering... the return line on it
how much is the guy asking? is it a 4x4? and what kinds of creature comforts does it have besides A/C?

hes askin 1300 its 2wd and im not sure on the comforts because i haven't gotten a real good look at the interior
and i dont really care about power windows/locks because i work on a farm and havein manuel stuff works out better for me cause its less to break on me
If it has a T18 manual transmission and 4.9 or 5.0-that would be a bullet proof powertrain combination. Any problems at that age should be readily apparent with a test drive.
And no rust?? If it drives good and has no apparent problems- offer him 900.00 cash-and bring the cash with you. I bet he takes your cash offer.
one more question what kind of mpgs can i expect if it has the 5.0 i know that really depends on how you drive (lead foot/light foot exc..) anyways thanks guys i apreciate all the help
i paid 1250 for mine like 5 years ago all it needed was a water pump lol well ford u know how that works.... so new bolts waterpump timing cover .... i got it fixed and been on there every sence
i got a mustang timing chain thunder bird timing cover and a f150 water pump lol *yes they are all intercange able... the only difference is the shape of the water ports on them i think f150s are D-shaped thunderbirds are O-shaped or the other way i forgot*
i love the truck got warped rotor and rear abs light is on so i need to do complete brakes all the way around wheel cylinders calibers rotors and hardware... and clean the old nasty black fluid out for some fresh clear looking fluid that might make it go out
lol if it dont then ill start the process of figureing out what the deal is....
oh yea i had to put new power window moters in too
the only problem i have now is the trans leaks around the pan so if u fill it up it will leak out but if u leave it down a quart it dont leak.... funny huh
thats soon to be trashed for a AOD or somthing like that
at 1300 all this one needs will be a set of tires in a month or so.... so from what im thinkin and hearin from u guys im gonna get it if its still around when the ranger sells and if i have a chance ill get some pics of it and post them up
