Blower Motor

My Blower in my 79 F150 (no A/C) only has one speed, full on. I replaced the switch and it made no difference. How does this switch/motor work? 4position switch is currently: off, off, off, full

Blower Motor

There's a wire wound Resister out on the Blower housing, (cant remember exactly where) and It's a frequent Dier (PUN) It look's like a Phenolic block with three coil's of wire, and three wires plugged in btween and on the end of the coils. It wont be real easy to replace either. Usually you wind up replacing the terminal end's on the wires.

There is a small phenolic (plastic) plate (about 2" by 3") on the heater box that has resistors on the other (inside) side that the wires from the switch go to except in hi where the wire goes straight to the blower for full power. I can't remember if that little plate is rivited or screwed on but it is fairly easy to replace and that should restore the different speeds of the blower. if you need more info wnelson@ptialaska.net
