Good morning everyone and Happy Holidays!
I have a question about my 2003 F350 SD with the 6.0 turbo diesel.
right after I start up my truck and turn the defroster on I am getting a burning smell from my air ducts. I have had my heater replaced last year it decided to take a crap, so I am not sure if it could be the heater on its way out again or something else. anyone else have this problem??
thanks
Check the flex pipe sections in your up pipes for leakage. These break and will allow exhaust fumes to fill the engine compartment and be drawn in by the HVAC system.
Look for soot at the flex sections, and you can carefully check with your hand for exhaust blowing out.
The flex pipes are pieces of pipe extending from each exhaust manifold to the turbo from each side. These flex pipes if leaking, will let exhaust get into your fresh air vent on the outside of the hood.
