Rear fueltank query....

In the Ranger F150 we are looking at, it has a tank in the cab, and one under the tray, should the switch that selects the rear or front tank cut the fuel flow, or does it only switch between sender units? Should the fuel be able to flow from both tanks at once?
Thanks,
Shane

The switch will select the fuel flow from either tank. Your fuel shouldn't come from both tanks at once if its factory installed dual tanks.

The dash fuel tank switch works in conjunction with the fuel tank selector valve and solenoid assy which is mounted on the frame rail.

If fuel is flowing from both tanks at once, this valve is the likely culprit. There are two different valves, it depends on what year the truck is.

You didn't say what year this F150 is. F150's with the In-Cab were made 1975/77.

It's not a 1978 or 1979, because the last year for in In-Cab fuel tank was 1977.

I dunno what LMC sells, as I've never bought anything from them.

The only time I buy aftermarket repro parts is...if I cannot find Genuine Ford Parts.

The only repro parts sellers I've ever bought anything from are Dennis Carpenter and Dearborn Classics...both for 1963 Galaxie parts.

D5TZ9189B .. Fuel Tank Selector Valve & Solenoid Assy / 3 Ports / Marked: D5TF-9F271-AA / D5TZ9189B replaced D5TZ9189A / Obsolete

Fits: 1975/77: F100/350 & E150/350 (Econoline).

Sorry, no Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has either part number.
