bouncing and brakes
O.k. I will try and make sense here. I am a mechanic wannabe. The other day I was fixing the little button on my brake pedal (78 F-100, 302) so that the brake lights would go on and off when they were supposed to. Well prior to this the brakes were working...but not very good. The pedal was real easy and it took awhile to stop. When I was fixing the button I pushed the pedal down several times to make sure the button was ligning up. Now the brakes are really stiff and it stops great!! BUT...when I get up to around 30 or so the whole truck starts to bounce and vibrate. What could this be? I am at a loss. I did absolutely nothing but fix the little brake light button and pump the brakes a few times to make sure it was ligning up. Now the brakes work great but the truck bounces! Help!! One more thing...two days ago I hauled some materials (~1000 pounds) and it was really riding low. Could this have anything to do with it? Shocks? Springs? Thanks for all your help.

Jack it up and make sure you dont have wheel locked up.You should have a slight drag on the rear brakes.One could have locked up and got hot and smoked a rotor or a drum.Do you smell anything hot after you drive it?Sometimes you can sniff um out to.
