Thanks to you guys, I've decided to keep my I-6 and not go with a 302. Seeing as how a 4 bbl intake is big $ I think I'll go with a 2 bbl adapter and a header. Here are my questions, What size carb should I get and where can I get a header and an adapter kit for the 1 bbl intake? JC WHit wants over $300 for a header. Seems pricey to me.
Any other ideas for more power (short of a rebuild)? Tranny is a 3 spd manual.
I wonder how much you could get the stock manifolds from a late model 300 six. Mine is a '95 and has dual manifolds that resemble headers. I suppose they started using them around when EFI was added or about 1988.
A 4 bbl intake (Offenhauser)is around $200 to $220..... Is that too expensive for you? A 390 cfm Holley 4 bbl Carb is $260, also, if you were interested in a 4 bbl. Just a thought....
