Ok, I've got bad injectors. Dealer want's $8,000-$10,000 for injectors and head studs. I decided to do injectors, studs, gaskets and EGR delete myself for $3,500. Here is the story.
Unhooking everything under the hood, got the instructions off of this forum
Onbolting the cab.
There she is.
Turbo and intake manifold off.
Old injectors.
Truck has 128,000 miles.
Now that we have it apart, let's start putting it back together.
Hypermax stage 1
EGR delete.
CCA delete.(two washers,a bolt, silicon and two nuts.)
Silencer ring removed with 3" hole saw and buffing wheel.
Got it back together, cranked for about 30 seconds and fired right up.
P.S. Don't forget to put the tranny dipstick tube on before you put the cab on.
P.S.S. Don't ever, ever, ever spin the steering wheel when it is disconected off the shaft.
looks like you had some issues with the head lifting under boost abit just looking at the deck. Looks to be an o4 late build engine.
I think its great that you were able to safe that kind of money. I hope in the venture you understand why its not cheep. it took 2 people 45 hours thats 90 hours total.
Now if you get some practice you can do all this in cab in 15-18 hours with only one person. and by no means do I mean to say this in a negitive manner. Very gald it worked at well for you.
wow.....the cross-hatch in that cylinder looks awesome for 128,000 miles.wish i had a lift like you got, that'd be a fun project to undertake.thanks for sharing.
