The last week or so I have initiated the WTS light without the radio on, and have heard what I think is the GPR buzzing.
Is this a symptom of an impending GPR failure?
Or have I not heard it before?
Its a bone stock 2000 by the way, 151K miles.
No problems starting, no unburned fuel in the exhaust, or other problems that I can tell.
The GPR is a relay that typically won't make any buzzing noises. Items that do make noises when the key is turned on are the fuel pump and possibly the vaccum pump. Are you sure it's not one of those?
An easy check would be to stick a volt meter on the GPR and turn the key on. The volt meter will tell you when the GPR kicks off. See if that matches the time the buzzing stops.
