Watching Someone Die............
Sorry I haven't been around much this week guys. My mother-in-law died Monday at our home. We have been taking care of her for the last 7 years. She has had alzheimer's since 2002, and my brother and sister-in-law drained her of all her money and assets before they "dumped" her with my wife and I.
She had two small strokes in the last two months, and two weeks ago we were told that she now had cancer, and 3 months left to live. Two weeks later she passed away Monday morning at 0700 with my wife and myself at her bedside.
This has been particularly hard on my wife ( who's a saint) because she was the one that took care of my mother for the last 3 months of her life when she had lung cancer. My mom died 10 years ago on Christmas eve morning.
Christmas will never be the same again.......................We are going to my daughters home for Christmas, and hopefully the grand kids will add some joy to an otherwise rotten time of year.
I do hope and wish that all of you will have a merry Christmas. Please hug everyone around you this season, and remember that every day is a gift with the ones you love.
Don.

not for your mom-in-laws death, but draining her of her assets.

My wife and I just want to close off this chapter and move on. We don't need the money and took care of her mom out of love, nothing else.
Her brother and sister both have miserable lives, and will most likely die a cold lonely death. They have both been told to never cross my path again. I promised my wife I would keep the piece until her mom was gone. I kept my word...............

YOU are a good man, Don....a man of his word deserves nothing less than respect from all who know him, and I for one am honored to call you friend.....
I am sorry for the losses you have endured. holidays are awful in my home as well, losing my daddy before the holidays in 2004, losing my brother during the holidays just this past Jan 1, and now today we lost my ex-husbands youngest brother.....MY age and with small children at home......
please know that while I muddle through these difficult times, I will be keeping you and your wife in my thoughts and prayers....
much love to you both~~
