I pulled my 400 in my 78 F-150 and I am going to
paint under my hood.
Any experience with some sort of underhood paints that are durable?
I've painted several things with POR-15 and they have held up real well but POR-15 dosn't bond well with the galvonized steel that is under my hood.
Thanks
Gee I wish this had come up a few months ago. I changed the engine in my 78 F-150 this past fall, and while I had it out, I steamed the engine bay and painted it with POR-15. Then putting everything back in I noticed the POR-15 scratched right off the galvanized metal. Too bad. It still looks good except for those couple scratches so I won't bother messing with it until the next time the engine comes out.
I painted my hood with a rustolium type brush on paint and it looks great. You can scrub it too. Im not sure how long it will last but i did it two mounths ago and it still looks the same.
