Ok so heres the deal, when i bought the truck I have i had an issue with teh UVCH and when i took it to a shop in the process of trying to figure out what was going on we turned the OBA that is installed on the truck...(of course at the time i did not know what it was)...anyways so my question is how do I know where to adjust it to...I would assume that the more open it is the less boost the MAP will see, and the more closed it is the more boost the sensor will read...do I have that right? and does anyone have an idea of where it should be approx?

If so its as easy as clockwise will increase boost pressures to the MAP and counterclockwise will restrict flow to the MAP sensor.
It really needs to be tested on the system. I have found that the MAP readings are a little screwy sometimes (especially if you run tunes). What I do is read the max boost seen by the PCM with my Scan Gauge, and make sure it's not more than 21-22psi. If you know someone that can monitor the live data (like with a Scan Gauge or AE), it's easy. The alternative is to take it off, put the regulator on the output of an air compressor with a gauge at the other side. Crank up the pressure from the compressor and make sure no more than 21ish is seen after the regulator.
Yes, turning the OBA adjustment **** to the left (counter clockwise) will lower the pressure seen by the MAP.
I set mine at 22 PSI and no more defueling. This is how I did it with boost gauge teed into MAP line. Just
removed MAP line at bottom of spider and used compressed air.
One word of advice -- I set mine at 22.1 (according to the MAP sensor read by the PCM), but now I get an occasional over-boost code. No defueling, but I get a CEL sometimes. I have to dial mine back just a hair...
