Clutch Fork Angle
I have an NP435 mounted to a 2000 Explorer 5.0 through a 1984 bellhousing -- the one with the mounts for a hydraulic slave cylinder. I had a very heavy pedal, I think because the clutch fork was angled toward the rear. I put in an adjustable pivot ball and adjustable throwout bearing and I think I got it far enough forward. I have some free play, but the fork almost hits the front of the hole in the bellhousing. I can't even get a boot around it. Do I have the wrong clutch? It's a Luk replacement kit. The wrong fork? It's the kind with a spring clip to hold it on the pivot ball, but no clips on the bearing end.
