I am wondering if anyone knows what engine series the 370 is part of, its it the 385 series with the 429/460? If it is part of the 385's does anyone know if a clark 5 speed out of a F600 or F700 with either a 370 2v or a 429 4v in front of it, will it bolt up to a 351m/400 and or 429/460? If this does bolt up i realize it would take some mods to get it to fit in a pick-up truck but i wonder if the 5 speed would be worth much with the extra gear. has anyone does this swap or know anyone that has? any info will be a help, thanks
I work on big trucks for a living, usually diesels. I have however done work on 370's. from what I can tell, it is a 385 series block. and has the 429/460 bellhousing pattern. I'm pretty sure the were available with clarke five speeds
Yes, Clarke 5 speeds were also offered on big trucks with FT blocks ( 330, 391, 361, etc.). The 370 however is definately not a FE or FT block, it is very different
