They probably have Guinness on IV drip at the hospitals in Ireland. I'm very relieved they were able to get the fire out before it spread to more critical areas of the brewery.

It's funny how the Irish and the Scots have been sterotyped as drunks. However, a Guiness fire could be tragic. Can't make a good black and tan without Guiness stout.

I love the second paragraph "The building stored empty containers and machinery, not beer." there must have been a collective sigh of relief right there.

One of their brewery workers drowned in one of the vats. One of his "mates" went to tell his wife. When he told her she asked if he went quickly but the reply was, "no, he had to get out twice to pee."
