Turbos
Some international farm tractors had V8 turboed motors. I never really looked at one does anybody know what motors they were and if the turbos were compatible, also what rpms these motors had peak torque at.

According to tractor data dot com it is a DV550 with 548.1 cubic inch or 9 liters, and was a natural asperated motor. Tested at 130 hp on the drawbar 150 on the pto. They han them figured out so they only ran on 4 cyclinders when under partial load, and all 8 when needed.

The tractors that run the 436, and 466 series engines run turbos, but they are six cylinder engines. I have run these for years. The tractors that had the V8 looked pretty cool with the twin stacks, which when you think about it if they had a turbo they would probably have run a single stack off the turbo.

Ya, the 1468 and 1568 used the DV550 truck V8. At idle and light throttle it ran on 4 cylinders to conserve fuel. When throttle was increased it went to all 8. If the pump was turned up too far or the engine turbo'd, engine failure commonly resulted, as they were not designed for it. Very sweet tractors, I'd love to have one.
