Ford remote start

I ordered the Ford remote start on my 09 150 and love it. My wife and I just bought a 2010 Expedition Limited for her. It has everything on it but the remote. When we made the deal I had the remote in the deal. The dealer has been saying they are backordered till January. Anyone know if this is true? Anyone I can call?

I bought a 2010 XLT yesterday and when I asked about adding remote start they said a guy comes around once a week to do installations. They don't install the actual Ford remote start system but some aftermarket system instead. That shocked me.

That said the "guy" is installing my remote start on Thursday. It's about $19 more than the same guy installing the same system in his glass shop but I guess I feel better that they are doing it at the dealer in case things go bad.....

Price was $269 if anyone needs to compare an aftermarket install to a Ford system installation.

I bought the ford alarm & remote start for my last truck and the "guy" that came out left me with a nice little dent above the front driver side fender that I did not notice for a few days but since the truck was a superduty with a 8" liflt on 38's at the time I know it was not from a shopping cart.

I have an installation date of January 19th. I went over the salesman's head and got it done. I should have done it a month ago.

I have the Ford remote on my 09 f150 and it works like a champ. I can sit in one of my tree stands and hit the button and my truck starts at over 300 yards. I wouldn't get any other. I like factory parts because the factory warranty covers it, 6 yrs 100K in this case. I had it thrown in on the deal, but, the cost is $339.
