I currently have an 08 Lariat, but am getting the itch for "new". Since I'm married and can't trade the wife in without serious depreciation, I'm stuck changing vehicles every 3yrs.
I went and looked at a 10 KR (which looks nicer than the Platinum in my book) and then I looked at an XL which was 20k less. Loaded or bare bones...The XL reminded me of the nostalgia of the older vehicles, and still has a CD player in it. I just wish it would come in leather...lol Anyway, does the XL come with a 5.4l option, or only the 4.6? Stealership was closed on sunday. Trucks aren't my dd anymore, so I prefer the bare bones approach with A/C.
If you want bare bones but with a 5.4 I think you need to at least step up to XLT... These can still be fairly simple... If you want 2wd, I don't know much about the FX2 or the STX, but you might want to check them out too... Ford.com will tell you which packeges have what and what can be ordered with this and that...
I think the XL's can be had with the 5.4L. The STX's only come with a 4.6L if memory is correct. I'm married too. I never had a problem with the depreciation of trading the wife in, but giving away those houses was a deal breaker every time. LOL And besides training a new one or getting trained by a new one is a PITA. So vehicle trading it is.
