Feedback on Dr. performance module.

I have a F250-2008 6.4l and I am looking to improve the performance without jeopardizing my warranty. I recently read an article on Diesel Power and they tested the Dr. Performance Module and gave it a good review. It gave them a reasonable increase in performance 40hp/165tq while reducing the exhaust tempratures up to 75 degrees. My question is does anyone have this or have any other information on its performance.

If you value your warranty, don't install anything aftermarket on your truck. There are some dealerships that are mod friendly, but most are not and will void your warranty especially since the PCM will rat you out if you install an aftermarket tuner or chip.

i remember reading an article on this product, in one of the diesel mags. it made good power, but made the truck go into limp mode many times. if you don't want to mess up your warranty, don't mess with it. if the dealer want to void you, i think any tuner is detectable if they look hard enought.

I would not go with something unhear of here or some of the other forums. Spartan, SCT or Banks are the most talked about and proven.

Toreador_Diesel is right, can you put your warranty in question. It is a risk.

i have recently talked with the rep and found out more about this module, first it is not a chip or programmer and does not interface directly with the ecm. It is attached at the manifold area and the wirning harness from the ecm connects to it and fools the ecm into believing that all is fine by replying with the correct handshake signal. It then changes the rail pressure and atomizes the fuel better. It does not over fuel the system like the chips and programmers that are in wide use in this forum. It is installed in about 15 minutes and removed just as quickly. I have spoken with several people who are using it and are getting 30% or better improvement in fuel efficiency and have not had any problems that have been reported. It only costs $669 and if it cannot be determined that it is in the system then I cannot see many reasons to not try it. I have been stock and have had to rreplace a fuel pump, both turbos, radiator, so the motor is almost new because of this stupid idea that they came up with to save the environment, which is lets burn 30 to 40 % more fuel to get rid of the black smoke. Wow, what a great way to save the world from smoke!
