3'rd blown

For the 3'rd time dads steering hose has blown on his 06 F250 with 5.4.
Does this sound like the pump or the steering gear?

Gonna have him push for everything to be replaced while still under warranty.
Temps was 35f.

Thanks

sounds like the pump is building up too much pressure. What is the level in the pump? ensure it is proper before taking it in.

Most steering pumps have a bypass, sounds like your isn't working or is plugged or restricted.

Fluid was at proper level all 3 times.
We have to call the dealer to send parts out then go to a shop to have them put in.
The fluid was flushed everytime a new hose was put on.

Thanks.

Threads are good.
It has blow twice in the same spot and this third time was in a different place.

It is the hose coming from the cooler to the reservoir.

That's the return line and shouldn't be under pressure. As with any hydraulic pump, there is a pressure side that does the work, then there is the return or tank line that returns fluid to the resevoir. It is usually under little or no pressure other than what's required to get it to flow back into the tank. I suspect it's rubbing or stretching or binding. If it were blowing due to pressure you can bet your last dollar the cooler would blow long before the hose did.

Hoses are not doing anything that you suggest.
When you feel the hoses when the engine is running there is quite a bit of pressure on them. Same when you look in the tank and see fluid being pumped back.

Well it blew again in a different spot.
It is blowing the hose from the steering gear to the cooler.
Is has also bulged the hose in another spot.

Said the wrong hose earlier.
