I have a 63 F100 witha 64-66 styleside short bed. I would like to find out what year of ford truck I can switch it all over to so I can get the newer brakes front end and steering?
I want to switch my cab, front clip and bed and motor etc to a newer frame so I can enjoy poer steering, disc brakes, etc. Instead of cutting the front of my frame and putting a newer piece in.

Ok Your sheetmetal should bolt onto a chassis through 65-72. The 73-79 frames are different, and although the horizontal measurements are the same from the rear cab mounts forward, there are some elevation differences. Your cab would not set the same with out modifications. If you have enough engineering jucies in your blood you could make those mods and have a nice ride. :-)
The rails have some different bends in them and the front cab mounts are lower. I had a 76 & 66 LWB Chassis on wheels & tires side by side for compairison, for the doubters.

In the still cool hours of the night, you can hear chevys rusting away.
61-64 frames are almost perfectly straight from front to rear, all twin I-beam frames drop down below the cab. There is no direct bolt together swap, but if you fab. your own body mounts anything with the right wheel base could be used.
The floor is higher in 61-64 fords to clear the straight rails, thats why they have those cool steps inside the door.
