Another Cold Weather Question

Ok been having problems with my truck. the other day i came out and batteries were dead. hmmmm wondered why and thought i could of left a interior light on. so i used jumper cables and kinda charged it then let it run. and started fine that day. come another day try to start the truck and battery had juice and then it wouldnt start kept turning over but wouldnt start. so let off of it let the glow plugs run another two minutes and tried again and then battery goes dead. jumped it again. and ran fine all day. this morning try to start it and turns turns turns and nothing happens. start to tell battery starts die ing so i let off. and so i plugged it in (block heater) and let it set 15 minutes come back out little hesitant but it started. so do you think it is the batteries alt, glow plugs, what. i have the motorcraft anti-ge; performance booster i use all the time. been around the teens all week. just wondering. thanks

I'd load test the batteries- individually, as a starting point. Take it to an Advance Auto or some place like it and they'll do it for free. Test alt, rule these out. You need to get it figured out quick so as to not fry your FICM. Is it still under warranty? 06 is still good by years, don't know where you're at with miles.
EDIT: I double dose the anti-gel when its that cold, FWIW.

get the latest flash from the dealership, use 5W40 oil, and test your FICM voltage.

Replace both of them.

Go for batteries that are NOT the highest CCAs in the class, but optimized more for discharge cycles. e.g. instead of 850cca, go for 750.

Diesel starting load with the glow plugs is more a mixed load vs pure starting.

Do the clever thing.. clear the memory and also the codes.

Then see if they come back.. and do as bismic says.
