Lots of painters tape double and triple layered on all edges, movers blankets taped in place, check all tools for rough spots/burrs and tape any surface of tools that will come anywhere near painted surfaces. Designate clean table or surface to place tools on within arms reach, do NOT lay tools on any part of the truck even for a moment, it's best if you have a designated helper/assistant in charge of handing you and receiving back all tools like a nurse in an operating room. Try to "clock" all visible fasteners. Lots of careful strong helpers, clean leather gloves, clothes without metal rivets, exposed zippers, belt buckles or jewelry, lots of patience. Good luck and looking forwards to seeing it completed!
Brucelee has an excellent idea to use vinyl sign transfer tape! Why didn't I think of that since I cut vinyl??? It is available in both paper and a tough translucent vinyl material (highly recommended over the paper!) in widths from 1" - 48" wide in 100 yd rolls. www.beacongraphics.com is an excellent source.
being a body man/ painter, let me say, if you arent used to assembly with fresh paint, then back away for a few days. use a good masking tape to protect both edged(multi layers). remember above all, SKIN GROWS BACK, PAINT DOESNT!. always sacrifice blood for paint. you have waited this long, whats a few more days. i usually recommend for people to practice some with mocking up/ dry fitting while it's still in primer. every part has multiple methods to install. if you find the right one ahead of time, it sure helps. truck looks good! don't blow it now. you might make the painter cry! not much is more depressing than painting something and having it turn out just right, and then some knuckle head screw up your "art".
Beautious! I've waited years to see how it would look. Use lots of tape, and have enough help (pick them carefully of course) so you have eyes and hands on all the high risk scraping areas
every time somebody I know buys a new car, I tell 'em to just give it one good bang w/ a ball peen hammer right in the middle of the driver door just to get it over with so they don't have to live in fear of the first dink. but, for this truck, I hesitate to advise too hastily.
