Installation stand still

I am installing dolphin gauges and 12 volt senders and an electronic speedo pulse sender on my 54 f100. I'm stuck on the pulse sender install. One question: I have the original 3 on the tree transmission. Do I need an adapter to put the pulse sender on the transmission? The pulse sender definitely looks too long to fit in the hole with the gear on the transmission. If an adapter is required, where can I get one? Thanks in advance

I'm not sure. In this case I would take some measurements of the old drive gear and the opening and contact the manufacturer to ask for advice or if an adaptor is necessary.
