Brake Light Issues

Hey All. I'm a new member to this forum. I have a problem that just popped up and i am hoping the some of you can give me some idea's or insight into what you think it might be.

I have a 1991 Ford F250. The Driver side tail light works when the lights are on, however the brake light and turn signal do not work on that side but do work fine on the other side. Any idea's on what this could be? Are there any "usual suspects" to look for that might be a common problem with this truck?

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance guys.

Joe

Have you tried a new bulb?? There are two filaments(sp) in them, one for tail lights, and one for brake and turn signal.

Here is a thread from a few days back that may give you a few ideas, but by all means check the bulb and socket first... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...t-flasher.html

Oh, and Welcome to FTE...........

Thanks for the Welcome! Yes i checked the bulb. The filaments were fine but i changed it anyway just to be sure and still no luck.

Every light works in the truck except for the rear driver side stop light and turn signal which also means no emergency flasher on that side either, but the light does go on when you turn on the headlights, it's only those other elements of that rear driver side light that do not work.

:edit: Thanks for that link i'm gonna have to do a little investigating with the trailer harness seeing as i do have one. That will take a little time though seeing as it just started snowing hard here.

Turn stop and hazard are all wired thru the MFS/multifunction switch in the steering column.

If you had an 87 I could tell yu how to test the MFS. Dont have info for a 91.
