79 f150 parking lights (problem)
The blinker lights staying on in your dash is telling you that the front park lights are not functioning. If the bulbs are good then you have a dirty connection either in the wire plug in for the ground or in the bulb receptical. Try cleaning the bulb housings and see if that works. I have mine get a little wacky at times on my 77 F150. On the back up lights if the bulbs are good try the same thing in cleaning the housings. Replace the bulbs as sometimes they blow and still look good. Also follow the backup light wire to where it goes to the switch on your shifter for the activation of the lights when you go into reverse. It may have a wire off or the switch may have gone bad. Hope this will help you. Keep on Truckin.......

You want the AMC,Chrysler,Ford. The Ford only sticks the bulb out to were it won't clear the lense. Regarding backup lights, you didn't say what kind of tranny you have. Mine was a 4spOD tranny (kind of unusual). I've delt with the 3sp, the Auto and this 4sp but haven't seen the switch on the T18 or NP435 granny low 4sps. The switch in my OD was bad. I took the harness off and connected the two leads with a probe wire and the lights came on. I had to go to Ford Parts counter to get the switch. It is probably the same switch that is used w/ 3/tree. For 3 tree it is located near where the shifter linkages connect to the steering column. When you put the shifter in Reverse it pushes against a plunger switch attached to harness. My 4spOD is similar only the plunger is near tailshaft of tranny where the shift linkage for R would push against plunger switch. In Granny low 4sp, I'm told the switch is under the floorboard near where the shifter goes into the tranny. In Auto's the switch is part of the neutral safety switch at the base of the column near pedals. There is a 4 contact harness. Two leads interupt ignition and only connect them when shifter is in P or N. The other two leads connect power to backup lights when you are in R. I'd test the leads into the sockets first to see that they light up test light w/ appropriate actions. If they do, replace the sockets. Just make sure that parking lights/tailights light up the dimmer fillament in 1157 bulb and brakes and turn signals light up the brighter fillament. The socket has 3 leads, 1 ground, 1 for parking/tailight, 1 for brakelight/turnsignal.
