Has any one ever put a plow on a 2002 explorer?
4x4 automatic transmission with selections below

4x4 high
4x4 low
4.0 engine
Factory Towing package
Thanks
You have a ControlTrack Transfer case, the 5r55(x) transmission is the weak spot (if you abuse it, you will lose it) especially working at low speed behind a plow. However having said that I have the same setup on a 97, and have plowed for the past 6 winters.
Do not run it in Auto as the transfer case will be continually engaging and disengaging, make sure you come to full stop before changing directions F/R. Use the lower gears while pushing snow.
You will have to crank your torsion bars up to support the extra weight up front.
Thanks Aquanaut20, I will look for a good deal on a set up.
I understand where your coming from, I was told by everyone that there was no way I could plow with my 1991 Explorer, worked great and still ran great but unfortunately rusted away to nothing. RIP 11/09

FYI, we plowed with our 92 as well, just had to be careful with the tranny A4LD, son finally totaled transmission with his quick directional changes, tore the sprag right out of it, other wise it held up well.
Had 465k and running like a champ.. replaced some tin work on it.
