Go to the link below and enter your vehicle specifics. It will return years and models that will interchange. I've found good yards near me that I otherwise wouldn't have known about. Or, just call/go to your local yard and ask. They'll usually know. Most have subscriptions to Hollander Interchange or equivalent.
If you don't have many junkyards (excuse me, I meant auto recyclers) in your area, expand your search to a larger radius to find the greatest range of years/models that have interchanging parts.

Thank you so much Mikeman. When you mentioned Hollander, I remembered that Pull-a-Part has a interchange. I went to the parts interchange site of Pull-a-Part and entered in what I was looking for. I used as many yards as I could (Atlanta North, South, East, and West). Search results came up with the correct years that would interchange and which yard had the vehicle.
I looking at the pricing. New rebuilt is $1200-$1600, used 168,000 miles around $700. Bad thing about used, you don't know what you are going to get. I'm not putting $1200 in a 15 year old vehicle, let allow $700, so I've decide to get a ATSG manual and watch a few Youtube videos. Youtube has several Disassembly and Assembly videos of the 5R55W transmission. Doesn't look that hard. A lot easier than the crawling on the ground loosing nuts and bolts underneath the SUV. Takes several cheater bars.
