need help 87 ford 300

on the road started loosing power, then it died. Had to get a tow back to the house. Put it in my garage with the wood burner added heat to the tanks, either tank would start it. went out 1 hr later and ran good. Then the next day while still sitting in the garage I took it out and got 2 blocks and it died and would not start. 2 days later it finally started and now show no sign of problems but I am afraid to drive it any distance because not sure why it just died. Seems to have gas. dont beleive it would be the gas filter, the high pressure pump will run and shut off before start.
please help with feed back
thanks

I would start with pulling the codes, and then check the fuel pressure.

I have had similar problems as you describe over the years on EFI Fords , and every time it was either the fuel pump relay or the in-tank pump , usually the pump. Like the man said , pull the codes and start from there. Good Luck ! These guys really know their stuff on this site so you should get some great advice !
