ok so stupid Qs of the day
i have the ZF S5-42 trans in my truck with 1 truw 4 and over drive
is it posible to build this trans so that the 1st gear has the ratio of the 2nd gear and so on? and then 4 would be over drive and overdrive would be exstreme overdrive or something like that
do they make a 6 speed trans that will hit up to the 7.3l?
is there an old semi truck trans that would match up?
also would there be a problem running 1100 rps at 60 mph?

semi truck tranny won't bolt up but most are single overdrive only anyway.
There is a company that modifies the ZF6 to work it involves cutting down the input and output shaft.
With the wind drag even empty at 60 I think you would be lugging it down.
The easiest way to get double over is with a gearvender, one member has an aod and gearvender. I have been contemplating installing a ZF5 in front of my gearvendor but I think I want to try for about 1600 at 65.
David 85 has an aod and installed 3.08 gears and is pretty happy with his setup.
