Oil leak

Yep i've read the tech folder nothing on an engine oil pan leak, checked it out again tonight with a flash light oil is freash and gewwy around the rim, it's not the whole oil pan, just the back behind the bulge that drops down with the drain screw, some has splatted onto the transmission, could it be that the screw aren't at the right torque specs or the seal between the engine and pan is bad, hope i't's just the screws at improper torque. check the rest of the engine several times and only place there seems to be oil coming from is the pan.

check the cam and crank sensors as well oil like to run along the bedplate and come down the back of the engine. also the front covers will do the same. when the front covers leak I have found something that is a little strage but it seems that all but the 2 bolts at the center back of the pan dont get wet... I done more then a few covers.

to remove the pan is not bad. remove motor mount nuts, remove outter fan shroud, drain radiator, remove upper hose from radiator. lift engine about 2-3" and support it buy wedging something like a 22mm socket under the motor mount (please dont place your hands under the mounts) unbolt pan slide it down so the pick up can be droped in to the pan then the pan will come out the back.

they are at the front of the engine. both are 2 wire connectors both black. crank is on the right under/behind the a/c compressor. the cam is on the left next to/ behind the p/s pump

Please keep us posted. My 05 6.0 has the same leak. I get a couple of drops from it everyday from the same area you are describing.
Last year did the same thing. Took to dealer and they did the CAC TSB 07-5-15 and said that was the problem. Little oil leaking around and down the back of motor. I will try to get dealer to fix again. It has been one year and 6 days since repair. (holding my breath) CAC is good and tight now, so I think it was some other leak they stopped while doing the tsb.

My 06 has the same leak, I tightened the back oil pan bolts about a 1/4 turn with a box end and that slowed it down. But it's never left spots. I'm gonna take it to the dealer and have them fix it before the 5/100 runs out.

Oh Yeah, my 5/100 just ran out last month!
My fault for not addressing this earlier...
I get the same leak every season around this time. Only a couple of drips per day and only in the AZ winter months.

I'm going with rubber seal shrinkage due to cooler climates...rubber hardens and contracts, then warms up while driving and expands, then overnight (or in some cases during the day while sitting) contracts again, etc, etc, resulting in weakend seals and gaskets...and drips or fluids residue.

That is probably what it is... It is more of an annoyance at this point. Would like to fix it if I could tell where it was coming from.
Thanks for the reply.
