The tire shop tried the air hammer trick but the lock was too soft so I strongly discouraged this after afew attempts, the lock & the mag wheel began showing minor signs of damage.
I`d rather carefully mess with this myself at home and take my Lincoln back for the tires. I`ll check out Princess Auto for the special sockets tomorrow.
Honestly its really not that hard to get them off by being careful. Ive done aluminum rims and they just take a little patience, but its not that tough!
I would think about switching tire shops if they cant complete this common job.
I meant tire shops. Its a procedure thats not rocket science, and if they cant do that properly, who knows where else they could be skimming, or screwing up wile installing or balancing your tires!
Thanks for the tip on Princess Auto Sheldon, I owe you one!
I finally got the socket yesterday and tried it last nite. It worked ok except for the one that the tire shop butchered. On that one there will be extra effort involved when I get back on it today.
