When the relay goes bad does the WTS still come on? Recently my (three times) WTS light did not come on and the truck had a hard or no start,,,,,,,,, thinking may be a relay going bad slowly???????
I think the light still works when the GPR is kaupt. I never look at the silly light, I always look at the battery/charging gauge. The light normally goes off loooong before the GPR disengages. I would leave the key "ON" for about 3 minutes (to make sure), Watch the gauge at 2 minutes it should jump up. If it does jump up then the GPR is working.

Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakman,, usually , a no WTS is the fuel heater shorting , have you had any blown fuses?...Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick.. ..
You guys are making me nervous , I am thinking just a relay , ccould it be worse oh no......
Copedawg when I first turn the key the gauge drops low then after it starts 2 or so minutes later it goes up farther, that I think means all is okay, i hope.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick, I disconnected the fuel heater 5 years ago because the heat element broke free also no blown fuses past or present,,,,,, I do however have low batteries that I will be replacing this weekend could low batts be related to this?
Could be batteries going out. I would still try the "ON" position and wait for the needle to bump up after 2 minutes to make sure the GPR is good. If it is you could have some bad GP's. I would also make sure you UVC are connected all the way. I have some bad GP's and I am dreading the day to pull the covers (next spring or summer and say that every winter).
Gp's and UVC harnesses should be good I r and r them last December with all new parts......
BTW the worst part about doing the GP's was worrying that one or more might get stuck mine all came out nice with a thin wall 10 mm deep socket, no problems at all FTE had all the answers ,,,,,,,, just reading all those stuck GP threads had me on edge but all was fine........

Thanks guys
My only experience with the WTS light not working ,is the bulb is burned out , the fuel heater is out , or , the PCM took a powder ...Don't know about low voltage .....
Good point Riiiiiiick have to look in to the bulb could be a bad connection there that made it not light up a few times, tomorrow after work I am getting two new batteries and will check the bulb too ,,,,,,,,, my PSD loves fresh batteries Varooooooommmmm
I have seen my guage jump around sometimes, what does that mean? The WTS light comes on, the guage a second later drops and sometimes, not always, the gauge needle starts junping up and then down. I'm assuming my relay is starting to go bad, just a guess.

Make sure the chip is not loose ..could be bad if it comes out while the key is on ...
I'll check the chip. Bill, if you were referring to my stitution, the flucations on the gauge is after the motor is running.
Yes. It was in reguards to a before startup.
If it happens while its running it could be the regulator.
Check the voltage and see if it spikes up and down
while this is happening.
Have seen this also come from a bad batt ground cable connection.
